Converting to SPR from Essendant
We are very likely converting from Essendant to SPR. Just curious what tips and tricks (SSI related or non-SSI related) folks have to share. If you'd rather discuss privately, email me at tonya@rogards.com.

Tonya,
It's been probably around 20 years since we switched from SP to Essendant. It's not an easy transition. A lot to consider. Are you a stocking dealership? If so, once you make the change I would change my stocking part numbers from the Essendant numbers to SP numbers and transfer the UNV on hand counts to BSN/SPR items, etc. That would include bin locations, stocking status flag, AQB flag, etc. As well as removing the info from the Essendant stocking items. Hard subs would need to be setup. All of your Pricing Link contracts would have to be updated to reflect the corresponding SP item numbers. You might want to remove the Essendant items from those contracts since your cost from Essendant may change. Switch and Save on the web to mirror backend hard subs. I would recommend populating the end users web favorites with the new item numbers. SSI would need to help with the web changes for content. If you had any ranking using Essendant items those would need to be removed and replaced with SP items. If you don't already have both vendors loaded, UOM differences would need to be addressed. Webmin chron jobs for PO auto generate, transmit, and auto receive would need to be changed. Manifest chron jobs for downloading delivery manifest info would need to be changed. These are just the things off the top of my head. Good luck with your transition. Hope all goes well.
